The Pre-Draft Stage of the County Development Plan Review process is made up of four phases:

Pre-Draft Public Consultation – submissions will be accepted from members of the public and prescribed stakeholders up until 3.30pm, on 29th April 2011.

Prepare Manager’s Report on Consultation – the Manager will prepare a report on any submissions received during this period and will submit this report to the Elected Members for their consideration.

Directions from Members on Draft Plan – The Members may issue directions to the Manager regarding the preparation of the Draft Development Plan.

Preparation of Draft County Development Plan 2013-2019 will then commence.
Previous Phase – Preparation of Proposed Draft Development Plan
The CDP review process is currently on the last step of the pre draft stage and work is ongoing by the Planning Authority in preparing the Draft Development Plan 2013-2019.
At the October Council meeting held on the 3rd of October 2011, the Elected Members having considered the Manager’s report, issued directions regarding the preparation of the Draft Development Plan in accordance with Section 11 (4) (d) of the Planning & Development Acts 2000 – 2010.
To inform the review of the Meath County Development Plan external consultants have been appointed to undertake the following:
- Strategic Flood Risk Assessment,
- CountyRetailStrategy,
- CountyHousingStrategy,
- Green Infrastructure Strategy,
- Appropriate Assessment
- Strategic Environmental Assessment.
The Draft Development Plan when finalised will be placed on public display and there will be a further opportunity to make a submission at this stage of the process.
Previous Phase – Directions from Members on Draft Plan
The Manager’s Report on pre draft consultation was distributed to the Elected Members of Meath County Council on the 29th of July 2011.
The Elected Members are currently considering the Manager’s Report. Following consideration of the Manager’s Report, the members of the planning authority may issue directions to the Manager regarding the preparation of the Draft Development Plan.
