Draft Meath County Development Plan – Public Consultation Information Sessions

Public consultation in the form of ‘Information Sessions’ on the Draft Meath County Development Plan will take place throughout the County from the 11th of June. Please see details of dates and times below:

  • Ashbourne Library – Monday 11th June 2012 – 2 pm to 4 pm
  • Dunshaughlin Area Office – Monday 11th June 2012 – 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm
  • Trim Library – Tuesday 12th June, 2012 – 4 pm to 6 pm
  • Duleek Area Office – Wednesday 13th June, 2012 – 4 pm to 6 pm
  • Planning & Transportation Department, Abbey Mall,Abbey Road, Navan. – Friday, 15th June, 2012 – 4 pm to 6 pm
  • Kells Town Council – Tuesday 19th June, 2012 – 4 pm to 6 pm

Meath County Council staff will be available there to discuss the draft plan and answer any queries that you may have.

Notice of Preparation of the Draft Meath County Development Plan 2013-2019

The Draft Meath County Development Plan 2013-2019 has been prepared and is on public display from Friday 25th May 2012 to Friday 3rd August 2012 inclusive.

 The Draft Plan is accompanied by an Environmental Report, prepared in accordance with the Planning and Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004 – 2011 and an Appropriate Assessment, pursuant to Article 6 of the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC.

The Draft Plan is also available for inspection at the following locations:

  • Planning Department, Abbey Mall, Abbey Road, Navan, Co. Meath, Monday to Friday between 9.30am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

Submissions 

Written submissions or observations with respect to the Draft Development Plan and/or Environmental Report and/or Appropriate Assessment are invited from members of the public and other interested parties between Friday, 25th May 2012 and Friday, 3rd August 2012 inclusive.  Observations/Submissions must be received by 4.00pm on Friday, 3rd August 2012.

Meath County Development Plan 2013-2019 – Latest News

The CDP review process is currently on the last step of the pre draft stage and work is ongoing by the Planning Authority in preparing the Draft Development Plan 2013-2019. 

At the October Council meeting held on the 3rd  of October 2011, the Elected Members having considered the Manager’s report, issued directions regarding the preparation of the Draft Development Plan in accordance with Section 11 (4) (d) of the Planning & Development Acts 2000 – 2010.

To inform the review of the Meath County Development Plan external consultants have been appointed to undertake the following:

  • Strategic Flood Risk Assessment,
  • CountyRetailStrategy,
  • CountyHousingStrategy,
  • Green Infrastructure Strategy,
  • Appropriate Assessment
  • Strategic Environmental Assessment.   

The Draft Development Plan when finalised will be placed on public display and there will be a further opportunity to make a submission at this stage of the process.

Meath County Development Plan 2013-2019 – Update

The Manager’s Report on the pre draft consultation phase was distributed to the Elected Members of Meath County Council on the 29th of July 2011.
The Elected Members considered the contents of  the Manager’s Report.  Following this period of consideration, the Elected Members issued directions to the Manager regarding the preparation of the Draft Development Plan at their Council Meeting on 3rd of October 2011.

The period for receipt of applications for consultancy services has closed. Tender applications are currently being evaluated.

The Manager’s Report on Pre Draft Public Consultation Stage has been prepared and is now available to view

The purpose of this report is to provide a description of the pre draft public consultation undertaken for the review of the Meath County Development Plan and preparation of a new County Development Plan 2013-2019.

The report consists of four sections:

  • Section 1 provides an introduction and overview of the report and describes the consultation that was undertaken during the pre-draft consultation phase of the review.
  • Section 2 details the legislative background and requirements for the report.
  • Section 3 provides a discussion of the issues raised during the pre draft consultation phase and the Manager’s opinion on them.
  • Section 4 outlines the Manager’s recommendations on the policies to be included in the draft development plan.

This report forms part of the statutory procedure for the preparation of the Meath County Development Plan 2013-2019.

Current Phase – Directions from Members on Draft Plan

CDP Stages 1-3

The Manager’s Report on pre draft consultation was distributed to the Elected Members of Meath County Council on the 29th of July 2011.
